4 Essentials to Start Taking Creative Photos from Home

The coronavirus has really taken a toll on everyone around the world in one way or another. It has been amazing to see how creative people have been getting while being stuck at home. I, as well, have been pushing myself to get more creative and even started a youtube series on taking photos from home.

I decided to make this blog post for anyone that is looking to start to take their own photos from home. You don’t even need a fancy camera. I’ve been taking all of my photos with my iphone 11.

So, today, I will be telling you four things that you can use at home to start taking great photos. Many of the things I am going to list today may seem obvious, but there are so many ways you can take creative photos with them.

1.) Sheet as a Backdrop

Whether you have a basic neutral colored sheet or a colorful pattern, all you need is to be able to hang your sheet up. You can do this in front of a wall. I have seen some people use a long jump rope and tape to hang up their backdrop. Something that I have tried was using a clothing rack and clamps. But, of course, you can always just buy an adjustable backdrop stand.

Below are a few swimsuit pictures I did from home with a sheet and clothing rack.

This brings me to my second essential for taking creative photos from home which is using houseplants!

2.) House Plants

We use house plants to dress up our homes, so why wouldn’t we use them to dress up our photos!

Whether the plants are real or fake, they will still look awesome in your photos.

Would you believe that these pictures are just of me laying my head in two baskets of decorative leaves? I decided to add flowers in my hair to add more color to the photo.

3.) Flowers

Flowers are an essential element for photos especially in these warmer months. You take so many diffierent portraits and selfies with the help of flowers.

4.) Mirror

With a mirror, you can take really cute selfies to show off your outfit of the day or you can challenge yourself by editing out the background of the mirror.

Below is a before and after shot. I decided to add clouds inside the mirror to give the illusion that I was outside.

Until next time,

XOXO,
