In summer 2018, I traveled with my family to Aruba as a graduation present. From the moment we arrived, I was amazed that the water was so beautiful. Aruba is known as the so-called HAPPY ISLAND, and I can see why. The whole trip was full of both excitement and relaxation. I couldn’t believe I would only be there for five days.

We stayed at the Riu Palace. With the all exclusive plan, the amount of different foods to try were endless. Besides the buffet style dining, guests could choose from various themed restaurants.

Below, are some pictures of food from the themed restaurants:

It’s hard to say which restaurant I enjoyed the most. I honestly felt that I was eating like a queen. Sadly, I was only able to eat at three of the four themed restaurants.

“Krystal” Fusion Restaurant

I have to say that the jumbo shrimp that came in the appetizer salad was absolutely the best thing ever. I’m not sure what the dressing was, but the taste was very light and sweet. The main course was duck breast and plantains. The plantains added more flavor to the duck.  Both desserts were amazing. One was a chocolate coffee cake and the other was a coffee mousse dessert.

“Sayuri” Japanese Restaurant

The Japanese restaurant was a beautiful spot. The colors red and black flowed through the space. The appetizer was wonton soup. The main course was steak and ramen noodles. The steak was so tender that you did not even need a knife to cut it. Finally, the dessert was two cannoli, which were too good to share.

Steakhouse

Surprisingly, I went to a steakhouse and did not get steak. I had been craving seafood all day and when I saw lobster on the menu, I just had to get it. The appetizer was a ceasar salad and four small trays of finger foods. For the main course, I had lobster, a baked potato, and two fried onion rings. This was absolutely the best part of the meal. The dessert was a combination of tiny brownies and macaroons.

My experience in Aruba was more than the food. I recommend that if you go to Aruba, you should go parasailing, kayaking, tubing, boating, as well as go on a safari tour.

XOXO,

BKD
